Each fragment in this exhibition carries the trace of a journey. In rediscovering them, we do not simply reconstruct the past—we reimagine it. This exhibition suggests a journey not of invention, but of remembrance, where the act of writing and creating art becomes a form of restoration, and where language itself serves as an archaeological tool for the soul.
The artists in this exhibition were invited to participate in the 2023-4 Artist’s Residency, a collaboration between Jerusalem Culture Unlimited (JCU) and the W.F. Albright Institute of Archaeological Research in East Jerusalem. This residency offers artists the chance to immerse themselves in the unique history and culture of East Jerusalem, surrounded by the Albright Institute’s rich environment. Each artist, with their diverse backgrounds and practices, approached their work from different angles.
